This concept is pretty cool, basically the guy wants to Improv on percussion instrument everyday for one whole year. I think that would be cool to try sometime.
I like the idea of improving everyday with different instruments. This duo reminded me of Dr. Edberg and Dr. Wolfe and how unexpected instruments can join together and create something really great.
Ben, this reminds me of our improving project. Not the sound, but just the fact that there is a wind and a pitched percussion instrument improving together, and also the fact that he's using a vibraphone, which is what you originally used. And as Melissa said, unexpected instruments can really create something amazing. Unexpected pairs are sometimes the best.
I like how around 2:14 they just stat jamming. I think it's a very cool idea and one that could really help to improve one's improvisational skills! I think I might try this at some point, but maybe for a few weeks, instead of a year.
